The silent hero.

Hey there bunnies! I know I haven't really been blogging recently. But that's because I was horribly busy these few days with getting a new computer for school and catching up friends during this March holidays!

Anyways, today the 23rd of March Monday 2015 is a really sad day for all Singaporeans as our very first prime minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew has passed on at the age of 91. Mr Lee is and always will be the father of Singapore. His passing has grieved many of us and he will always be remembered in our hearts. 50 years ago Mr Lee gave up his whole life to realize his visions for Singapore he also shed many tears for Singapore and now 50 years later, Singaporeans shall shed tears for him. He was the one who made it possible for all of us to live in such a well established and protected country. He never stopped striving for his ideals and that Singapore to be able to live in racial harmony. I do believe he has succeeded. 'I have spent my life, so much of it, building up this country. There's nothing more that I need to do. At the end of the day, what have I got? A successful Singapore. What have I given up? My life.' as quoted from Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Many Singaporeans would regard Mr Lee KY as our father, as Singapore. I quote Mr Lee Hsien Loong "The first of our founding fathers is no more. He inspired us, gave us courage, kept us together, and brought us here. He fought for our independence , built a nation when there was none, and made us proud to be Singaporeans."

Mr Lee Kuan Yew was a role model and a real hero to all of us. I still remember as a kid, my dad would have all the books by Mr Lee Kuan Yew and I would ask him why he'd have so many books of the same guy and he just told me 'This man is the father of Singapore and there is a whole lot to learn from him. When you get older, then you will understand.' Although my dad is not a Singaporean, he still looks up to Mr Lee and holds him dear to heart. Mr Lee was also a very dedicated man. Everyone could see the sadness in his eyes after his dear wife passed on before him. He has even left a note "For reasons of sentiment, I would like part of my ashes to be mixed up with mama's, and both her ashes and mine put side by side in the columbarium. We were joined in life and I would like our ashes to be joined after this life"

I am sorry that this blog post has been a little solemn and deep but I felt a dedication to our nation's founding father was necessary. I shall end here with Mr Lee Kuan Yew is as fearless as the lion but as soft as the dove. He shall be remembered forever and shall be missed. Rest in peace Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Thank You for all that you've done for us.

Much love,
Rach xoxo
