Halloween Horror Night Twenty Fifteen

Hey there!! Btw, its like 4:50am now and i'm writing this post as my body clock is really bad and i can't sleep. So like i said in one of my previous posts, i went to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Night on Saturday 3rd October. One word, wow. I didn't expect myself to actually survive and even WANTING to continue going into the different haunted houses. It was my first time going for Universal Studio's annual Halloween event. I'm a person who can't even watch horror films let alone going to such an event. Trust me, i'm a real sucker for horror. (If i can survive a night like that, you have no worries my friend)

My friends and i decided to meet up for dinner before heading to Universal Studios in the evening. Jazreel met up with us for dinner and patbingsu (korean shaved ice dessert) before the event as her classmates were also going on the same day and we eventually had to split up.

The group of us, consisting of 4 guys and 3 girls, the 7 of us went directly to the "MRT" haunted house first. The waiting time was horrible btw. We had to queue up for about 90 minutes before we could enter the haunted house. Actually most of the houses were about 90 minutes waiting time or even longer which was INSANE. After much 'bonding' we entered the house, not knowing what to expect. At least for the 5 of us. Jun Onn and Nolgene have been to Halloween Horror Night a few years back so they kind of had the upper-hand that night. Girls being girls, Pearlie, Cui Wen and I linked arms and held hands the whole time and was trying our best to squeeze through those narrow hallways in threes. It was horrifying actually. We were practically screaming at everything and anything that came up to us or appeared in front of us. It was a chain of screams basically. If one of us screamed, the other two would just scream (as if it was contagious).  Not to mention, Jun Onn was having the time of his life sneaking in front of the 3 of us and jumping out at us (more of me) like he was one of the scare actors. I fell victim to his scares twice. Not cool Jun Onn not cool.

It was a very confusing and frightening experience haha. I could barely see anything in the house and before i knew it i was face to face with some ghostly human and screamed my head off. I was holding on tight to Dillon's bag because i was so terrified that i would lose the people in front of us. And yes, he had to suffer with my screams and have me as a burden, constantly tugging and pulling at his bag. HAHA. Sorry Dillon and thank you. At one point in the house, there was this weird alien looking thing holding a chicken (I really have no idea why an alien was in the MRT and holding a chicken..) us girls got a shock of our lives and just stood there not daring to move near that alien looking thing. So we stood in such a way, Pearlie on the far left, holding onto Cui Wen who was in the middle and me on the right holding onto Cui Wen as well.

Suddenly, i just see Pearlie standing alone, fending for herself next to that alien dude HAHA. I don't know what exactly happened, but Cui Wen did indeed let go of Pearlie and she just ended up in front of us all alone being harassed by that alien and screaming for her life. HAHAHA. I feel so bad for her but i'm sorry Pearlie, it was also a super funny moment. Forgive us for abandoning you. You know we still love you hahaha.

After surviving the first haunted house, it felt great honestly. I couldn't wait to go into the next one although the first was quite a traumatizing experience. Pearlie and Cui Wen was like in total shock and was really scared. They had no thoughts of going into another haunted house. The guys wanted to head on to another haunted house and so we went on to this one called "The tunnel people". Pearlie and Cui Wen were really reluctant to go into the house so i ended up going to queue up with the guys. Yes just me. Fending for myself. I can't believe i even went to queue alone with the guys.

However, eventually Nolgene saw that another 'haunted house' had a shorter waiting time so we exited that queue. And all of us, including Cui Wen and Pearlie went to that queue. The reason why the words haunted house are in inverted commas, is because the one he saw was not a house. It was just another scare zone that we had to queue to enter. This one was quite fun not gonna lie haha. It was more open and didn't make me feel like i was trapped in there with those ghosts. BUT, there was this little girl standing in a inflatable pool of water and after i walked past it, some water gun thing sprayed water at my shorts. Which made me pissed because the side of my shorts was almost soaked. O'well.

We walked through the scare zone and decided to go for a ride. The mummy ride. As the waiting time was just 20 minutes compared to 90 minutes for another house. After the ride, the guys wanted to go to another haunted house, the "Hell House". That one was themed around the Chinese ghost festival with the incense and all that. I was quite reluctant to go in. Plus the fact that Cui Wen and Pearlie did not want to enter. I didn't like the idea of going in with the guys alone for this one, i might just die alone in there haha. So the 3 of us sat this one out. Not gonna lie, i was a little disappointed i couldn't go into the house with the girls.

While waiting for the guys to exit the house, the 3 of us just sat at a table near the area. After a while, Pearlie asked if i wanted to go to the scare zone around the "Hell House" to maybe take pictures with those roaming the area. I'll take that as compensation for not being able to enter the house with me so okay hahaha. Cui Wen was still terrified so she stayed at the table and so Pearlie and i went around taking pictures. That kinda made up for not going into the house haha. When the guys came out, we went on to take a few more pictures and then went on the canopy flyer ride.

We then moved on to another haunted house. I was quite sad that i only entered one house so far so my mind was set on at least going into one more. This time, i dragged Cui Wen with me for the "Siloso block 50" house. This queue was super quick. I guess it was because the park was actually closing and they just packed people into the house. It was around 12:15am when we started to queue for this house. Luckily we did make it in. It was not as scary as the "MRT" house and was actually quite cool. Cui Wen and i just ran for our lives whenever we saw the scary dudes in the area. But we didn't really get far because there was still a queue in front of us and the scary guys were still like right beside us so hahaha. But it was fun.

By the time we exited that house, almost everything was closed so we decided that was it for the night and left Universal Studios. In total, out of 4 houses i actually went to 2 so that makes half of it right? HAHA. I guess it's not that bad. Certainly not for the faint hearted.


I really enjoyed myself that night and made really funny and memorable memories that i'll always remember. (Especially the one when Pearlie was fending for herself against the alien HAHA) It was fun. A big thank you to the 6 of you guys who were there the whole night with me. For those of you who are still deciding if you would want to go this year, i'd say just give it a shot you might or might not regret it hahahaha. If you are, just have fun, and get ready to get scared (duh) plus the long waiting time. Not sure if i'll put myself through that again though let's see haha.
